A formal diagnosis by sleep medicine doctor will be required to conduct sleep study and conclude sleep apnea. Once ruling out the need for sleep apnea appliance and/or CPAP intolerance patient is referred to us for proper fabrication of sleep apnea appliance. 

Sleep Apnea should not be ignored. Proper treatment is neccessary for avoiding lot of unforseen consequences like sleeping while driving. Other side effects of sleep apnea are also very dangerous.

How sleep apnea diagnosed?

Sleep apnea is diagnosed using a sleep study. While the patient sleeps, they’ll be hooked with equipment that monitors their lung, heart, brain, limb movements, and breathing patterns. The level of oxygen in the blood is also monitored. If the criteria of sleep apnea are present, the patient will be diagnosed.

There are various treatment options for sleep apnea

CPAP: is one of the most recommeded treatments but treatment can be enhanced by combining with dental treatment.

Dental oral appliances:

These are appliances that are worn before a person goes to sleep. They’re custom-made so they’ll fit you perfectly and won’t bother you while you sleep. They work by keeping the tongue and jaw in their places and preventing them from closing the airway.
